Don’t you remember,
We were dancing
Before we even met,
Unknown bodies
Tracing ancient rhythms,
The unspoken attractions of
Patterns only we can make,
A language learnt
In seven shades,
The subliminal call of
Your electrapink softness
That cannot be explained
By sight, sound,
scent, taste,
touch alone.
And now we meet
For the first time, again,
Knowing without speaking,
Reaching without seeking,
Those inevitable collisions
We cannot resist,
And you could never kiss
With any other lips,
Our cores so highly magnetized
We can’t drift more than
The warmth of our hips apart,
This addiction beyond
Sensory logic,
Just know,
Just trust,
Our steps grace and hypnotize,
Swirling in dissolving dust,
Collecting up myths
And becoming them,
Fictions already written
In heady
Iridescent fury,
As the air forced
Out between us
Makes space for
Deeper instinct.
And even when
This fearless light
Is lost,
When known senses
Flicker, fail and
Disintegrate,
I know
You’ll still be
In my arms,
And dancing.
